I had a quote today for 75 bucks just to have my mag wheels bead blasted on the front and and in the back is this a good or bad price?  This is per wheel. Thanks

Indygenerallee

shit, I would check elsewhere, my guy does all four wheels inside and out for $50.00
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Yup, that sounds price sounds nuts. In this economy, I bet there are a lot of idle bead blasters willing to fire up the equipment for much less.
My 1969 Charger. RIP......Rest in pieces.

bull

So you're saying $75 each? :o I'd pay maybe $75 for all four, not each.

7chargers

That is what I was thinking, thanks... I about Sh*t when he told me but I never had it done so i wanted to check with you guys.

So was it $75/each or $75 for the set of 4?

75 bucks per wheel, and 150 to blast and repaint. I already have a ton of money into them, One last questions, the rims I'm doing are Vector rims/aluminum, Can I have them powder coated all black and then lightly sand down the area that needs the medal showing? or would the powder coating be to durable to effectly sand and clear coat. The gentelman that powder coats said he cant tape he only does one solid color. Thnaks

That is pretty steep for each rim.  I would look around for another person.  Maybe his price is due to what kind of media he is using. :shruggy:

NO DON'T!!!! If you have that entire wheel powdercoated you are F'ed, A vector wheel done properly need blasted, the spokes polished to how you want them to appear finished, mask the spokes, powdercoat the black, remove masking and powdercoat the entire wheel clear.
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Thank you, wasnt sure how that would work with the powder coating. I also looked to taking the rims to Keystone, they sell paint supplies and they send to a company and vurtually take the rims and make them brand new, with warranty? 189 rim to do that which I know is rediculous but I want a nice finish.

Last year I had 6 wheels to do , I started bead blasting them in house. After about an hour I gave up and took them ot the dipper/stripper and picked them a week later ----$35 each
SO MUCH more cost effective ,,,,imo

then I primed and painted them in house
