Pricing individual suspension parts on Rock Auto, and see uppers as low as $5.33, and lowers for $14.43.  Would anyone trust these?

I got the MOOG stuff from Rockauto too.  With their prices and people's testimonial of quality, seemed the smartest thing to do.   :Twocents:

Although MOOG has had a stellar reputation for years, in this "multi-national corporation" environment can you be sure of the country of origin?
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I go by quality, not price. Those 5 buck balljoints might be priced somewhere for $125 each, same ball joint.... so price isn't gonna sway my opinion.

MOOG is becoming garbage.  While I have no factual basis behind this claim, when I redid the suspension on my 98 cherokee 2 years ago I installed nothing but MOOG parts when possible, rubicon and other companies did the rest....Not more than 11 months later ALL 4 shit the bed...this is also not the first time I have had their front end parts fail on me...not sure what to get these days...

It has to be installed by a "professional," but Raybestos Professional Grade parts have a lifetime warranty including parts and labor.  Check out my other post:

If they were purchased from Carquest I wouldnt blame moog. Federalmogul caught carquest corp. putting non-moog parts in there premium (moog) boxes. Carquest was also selling wells (cheep junk) electrical parts in there premium line and passing them off as standard blue streak parts. (Also a Fedarlmogul line). Fedarlmogul cut there ties with carquest becouse of this.

Moog parts carry a lifetime guarantee on parts no matter who instaled them as long as you have the receipt. They will cover labor if they were professionally installed. The installer just needs to send a labor claim with the original job ticket.

Moog all the way in my shop. I don't want a customer comming back mad becouse of parts failure. I want them back becouse they can trust my work. Word of mouth goes a long way. Quality parts speek volumes!

Do companies offer lifetime warranties because they are confident of their products or do they just depend on the odds that most buyers won't try to collect on the warranty?

Harbor Freight has lifetime warranties on many of it's products.

I have moog on all of my own stuff and install it exclusively in my shop. The only stuff I have warranted out is dodge ram track bars (big suprise ~ rolls eyes~) and parts that have never seen grease sense the day I put them in. Once again... Never a question asked. They just credit my account upon receiving the "bad" part.

Have you looked at Raysbestos professional series?

A name like Moog can change over time.

For the road biking types, Shimano used to mean a very high quality component set.  They started making lower and lower price point sets until you started seeing their stuff show up on Walmart bikes.  Or how Craftsman used to mean a certain level of tool.

I wouldn't panic yet. Goo look at the parts. Look at the part where the grease fitting is. If it's a moog it will say "Moog problem solver". It should also bee gold in color.

Yes I have, and what do you think?  Read my other post:
Comparing Moog to Raybestos Professional Grade ball joints

I think if they came it at the same price point as the moog or only slightly more I would try them.  I am not sure I would pay double for them.  At least not till I heard from people that have used them long term.  I did not realize they were at the twice as much price point, when I heard them come up I had the impression they were the same price.
