Hi you all, 1st off, I think this thread is maybe in the correct place. Anyways, i have an old All State Battery Charger, I mean I think it's from around the 1970's era. It was left out in the rain back in around 2006, and around 2007 I went to use it an discovered that the fan no longer work or at least I have no idea if the system is evening working. I was wanting to rebuild the old battery charger as my late parent gave it to me before they past. But I have no idea where to start looking at for "how to's" on repairing the old battery charger to get it back working once again. It was a very good one when it loose to work before. Any help on how to sites would be great. Thanks in-advance

It wasn't left out in the weather all that time was it?

I would find a new one that is about the same size and swap out the internal electronics.

No, it was always kept inside a shed but was left out maybe 2 days back on 2006 out in the weather by mistake.

That's just the issue. I took the shell off this one to see what was wrong on the inside. This one is set up strange on the inside an has a divider plate inside also it looks like that things bolt onto as well. I don't want to change out the inside, I like to repair the old charger with it's original stuff (get it working once again).

2 days outside shouldn't have caused any problems. I know old mechanics that used to let them set out for months at a time.

If you're good with electical and wiring, I'd take an ohm meter and test the switch or timer, whichever it has. That would be the place to start. Oh, and do this unplugged unless you really know what you're doing or you'll likely get the shock of your life.  :o
