68 Charger Engine numbers, Almost done!!!

Ok guys, i found heaps on our site regarding fender tag and engine code numbers, and im almost finished decoding my Charger, i just need some help with the last few numbers/letters on my car..

On the block underneath near core plugs are the numbers    7.3.67

Beside that are the numbers                                           2468130.9
                                                                                     L L

On the flat pad near Distributor                                       D 383

Under starter motor reads                                              PT 383 R 22180448
                                                                                                2

I have checked the whole car over and cannot find any other engine numbers  (EG, behind near oil sender unit) All other numbers match the fender tag and so far the car is very original according to the fender tag and radiator support also the trunk lip.
I need to have an engine number so i can register the car here in Oz

7.3.67 is the block casting date. Your car was most likely built in late '67, no?
2468130 means 383 B 1959-71
D 383 is a stamp they did by hand which means it's a 383 used in a 1968 car (D = 68).

The others I can't remember off the top of my head. Probably more of the same...

Remember, not all '68 engines were stamped with a unique engine number. And the earlier the car's build date the less likely it was. If there is not one by the oil sender unit then i'd say there is not one. What have the other '68 Oz owners done in this case to register their cars?     Just use the block casting number?

You just play the hand you're dealt. Basically you have to go by the build date because there's really no way to "legally" prove one of these unstamped engines is original to the car. Technically someone in my shoes could claim that any unstamped 383 that is cast dated between about July and say, November, is original.

PT 383 R 22180448 should work as an engine number since that is the engine serial number and unique to it.

PT= Plant Trenton
383= Displacement
R= Regular fuel
2218= Build date August 24, 1967
0448= Sequence number, the 448th built that day.

That build date and sequence number will be found on only one block....no others.

How does that number translate to Aug. 24, 67? I'd like to see what mine has to say but I don't understand this coding.

Also, there's nothing in any of those numbers that tells you the engine is unique to the car is there?
