There's a lot of garbage on tv these days but if you have the Smithsonian channel, check out "APOCALYPSE: THE SECOND WORLD WAR"
Unbelievable footage and great narration by Martin Sheen.
Its a 6 part mini series that follows Hitler's war path, how it all got started and how between the US, the Russians and Great Britain he basically got his a** kicked royally.

did they cover how close Hilter was to having a stealth JET ENGINE fighter AND bomber (that look eerily similar to our stealth) that could reach America ??  or the fact that he was getting close to a nuke also??  or how about when he was trying to GIVE the plans for his jet engine away to the Japs so they would be more of a pain to us.  that last 18 months of the war was REALLY crucial, i think if he hadn't been so completely psycho about world domination and been more calculating with his resources that those of us who would of escaped the death camps would all be speaking german right now

We got the German scientists that designed all that stuff, (2nd generation Skunk works & Lockeed Martin designed now) when we started the occupation of Germany after the war, some of them were very instrumental in the space race & some earlier scientist that defected from Nazi Germany, those guys helped with the 1st atomic weapons Fat Man & Little Boy also...
