Okay, I found out that my heater core is leaking in my 73.  So I took out my glove box, took down the two brackets, and about 6 small little nuts.  Is there some more bolts that are hidden, or am I weak?  Cause I tried pulling it down and it seems to be stuck in place.  Personally, I'm thinking that I'm too weak to pull it down :P

Do the 3rd gens have the bolts through the firewall like the 2nd gens. Look on your firewall and if you see 3 or 4 studs with nuts on them that holds the heater box in place. Unless 3rd gens are different....I haven't worked on that new stuff yet.  ;)

7/16" nuts on firewal...7 as a total...

remove lines and blower. You can remove the box with blower, but will be easier without it

Between water lines you will find also a 1/4" screw hidden by the insulator... in fact the insulator has a hole. I don't remember if you really NEEDS to remove that screw.

You need ro remove the glove box liner to get more room. then you will find a brace between box and cowl area ( down the dash frame )

another note... the inenr bracket it must be the LAST stuff to remove. That bracket support the weight. If you remove teh bracket with firewall nuts still attachet you can broke the box. Studs are attached on that fiberglass box that with heat and years is delicate.

.....Can I say oops  :-[

Well now I know for future references.  But hey - it's actually working now - and it's working good.  Turns out all along that I had a stuck door which is why I hardly got any air.  But the heater core was still leaking and that was a good thing to fix too :)

Thanks dude!
