Where can I get the cap (for a lack of a better word) that holds the lighter to the ashtray frame?

If it's the same as for a '68 I have one that I can send you. Just so we're on the right track you're talking about the thin metal "sleeve" that threads onto the lighter part from the back to secure it in the ash tray frame, right?

Thanks Terrible, I got it, but it does not fit. Where it screws onto the lighter is just a hair to small. Guess I need to find a 73 in a junk yard.

I have replaced mine with generic aftermarket pieces BUT a full assembly replacement, not just the outer cupped nut

Man I sure hate to hear that! I wish I at least had the lighter base to send you along with it! I sure wouldn't have thought they were different
