Headlights quit working!?!?

OK so heres my problem. Last week my headlight switch went out. When you would turn on the headlights the dash lights would go out. You could move the switch back just a bit and the dash lights would work but not the headlights. The clock would also stop until you would flip the switch up for the headlights to come on. OK bad switch, so I ordered me one Friday. I get it in today and plug it up and everything works except the headlights, and the high beam indicator light. I checked all the fuses and replaced the one that was bad, but still nothing. Ive checked and cleaned all the grounds and all of the terminals. I'm guessing that this new switch could be bad too, cause you can wiggle the switch abit and the headlights will flicker, but wont stay on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Turn on the headlights and see if you have power at the floor dimmer switch.

Nope no power there. I just went and picked up one and put it in and everything works with the old switch, it still doesnt work with the new headlight switch. I think the headlight switch I just bought is no good, so its going back to Tonys in the morning.

thats crazy i have teh same thing happening but i think its the plug it self, it also seems to be getting hot all of a sudden as well
