I just found this looking through my Maxim collection so sorry cause it's old news. For those that don't have this issue here's what it says:

Until this year, there were only two Chargers: Monsters from the '60s that kicked ass at the drop of a hanky, and the lame '80s K-cars that dribbled out as little as 109bhp. For better or worse, the newest addition to the family straddles that divide. Push the 2006 hemi-powered SRT8 and it moves like it's Rsoco P. Coltrane - eluding predecessors of yore. (No wonder Dodge knighted the reborn Charger as it's new NASCAR flagship) But if it's reincarnation of a revered coupe, why's the new guy sporting four doors and a face seemingly stolen from the Magnum Wagon? "We want the best of both worlds," says Jim Yetter, senior brand manager for Dodge. "People find the Mustang's backseat isn't big. The Charger packages performance so that it's good for different kinds of people." Comfort and power? Great. Just don't let us catch a soccer mom trying to blow us off the line in one.

1966 - The birth of the Charger. For an extra $1000, it comes with a 426 HEMI pushing almost 500 ponnies.

1979 - The Dukes of Hazzard premieres, featuring a '69 Charger called the General Lee. Nice Ride boys.

1999 - Dodge unveils a Charger comcept car powered by a propane-fueled V-8. Sadly it never gets made.

"...moves like it's Rosco P. Coltrain..."

The editor is clearly a dumbarse.
"This was the dedication of the altar, in the day when it was anointed, by the princes of Israel: twelve chargers of silver, twelve silver bowls, twelve spoons of gold..." -- Numbers 7:84 KJV

Best of both worlds? Gee, thanks for the crap sandwich, Jim. Can I get a glass of horse urine with this meal?

I think they meant "Rosco P. Coltrane - eluding" as the descriptive phrase, as in "Rosco P. Coltrane-eluding predecessors."  It is a really clumsy sentence, though.

You, Rosco P. Coltrane-eluders, you!
Matt. 14:8 (KJV) "And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, 'give me here John Baptist's head in a Charger.'"

I thought Chargers were supose to move like the General Lee (which pretty much so kicked Rosco's butt all the time)
