Trunk Floor advice

Hey guys. I'm getting the bodywork wrapped up. I have the new floor pans in and the car has been stripped to bare metal. The trunk floor is completely shot, but I was gonna wait until next year to tackle it. However, I got to thinking that since I'm gonna try to paint the car in a few weeks, that when I got around to the trunk floor, any welding in the area would blister and bubble the paint that is on the rear quarters. I'm wondering if I can just install new trunk extensions for now and weld them in, then paint. Or, should I go ahead and just do the whole trunk floor before I put the new paint on? I'm just trying to save some cash right now, so I'm wondering if I shouldn't just pony up. Any advice on this? I'll try to post some pics once I get the paint sprayed.
Thanks

Your going to want to do it before paint. By the time you get it all fitting and that. It would be hard to do with it painted.

It will be much easier to replace the trunk pan now.  The pans aren't that pricy if you do the work yourself.  I would do all metal work now and hold off on the paint if you're short of cash.  :Twocents:

If you paint it first you will be kicking your own ass when you end up scratching your new paint job while doing the work in the trunk. I say bite the bullet and do the pan now.
