Petri.

Hi,my brakelights at the left side is gone,i started to look at it today, the wiring is changed sometime so that looks good, how does the power go when you hit the brake pedal, there is one wiring at one side of brake switch and 2 pink wires at the other side,if someone could explain how the power goes and thrue what parts that would be easier for me,it is green wiring for the left brakelights and i started to check them from rear and going towords front, now i know the green wiring goes into the wiring that goes to the steering wheel and there i am now, what to do know.

It all combines and goes thru the turn signal switch. If one section goes bad you get one brakelight or none .But first I would check the bulb bulb socket and grounds the wiring going to a from the bulb socket. For the side thats out

Thanks,i dont think there is know ground problems,i took the bulb sockets out and measured at the wiring with a volt meter and had the other side at voltmeter at good ground,so i know that there is know ground problems at rear light,so the next part to check up should be the turn signal plate,so the wiring goes from lights to turn signal plate, where does it go from the other side of the plate,is it to the pedal switch or is it more stuff between there and where does the wiring go from the other side of pedal switch,i assume there is always 12v to the brake system even when ignition is off or am i wrong.

Brake pink feed wire is hot off the fuse box.White comes from T/S switch .You can unplug turn signal switch from harness and feed alternate power to green or tan wire .And check rear light function.Ive done similar test to the rear harness plug behind emergency brake. When not sure of a mis routed or pinched wire problem under rocker sill or under back seat.To test out all functions of the rear lighting

i have this same issue! all new year one harnesses! every time i check it it works fine but people tell me left brake is not working consistently! i even replaced the turn signal switch. i suspect crappy crimp on new harness? tough to fix unless i test while going down road! lol! :icon_smile_big:

actually found issue! my new turn switch assembly for 130 bucks dont return to full center on left turns!  :brickwall: :brickwall: took all apart and no way i can see to repair short of another switch! if i manually lightly re center turn signal all is good. so i suggest inspect your turn switch! most likely the problem.

I found this by accident .If key is off and turn signal arm is down and engaged. And your checking your brakelight by reflection on garage door. You only get one side  :Twocents:.Unless switch is centered

NIce, so maby i have a issue whit the t/s plate because my steering wheel is not centered when i drive the car, i will check that later today, they have worked when i was at the inspection, so now when the steering wheel is not centered the stoplights maby works if i turn the wheels a little? if i take the steering wheel of its place they should work if that is the problem?

Checked some more today, the White wire from brake switch that goes to t/s plate works fine,if i release the harness at the steering column and feed the dark green wire with power the brake light works,so it is something wrong with the t/s plate,i noticed the left rear turn lights also is gone, right side has no problems, the volt is good on the  w hite wire all the way up to t/s plate, but it dont send further to the dark green,if i push brake and measure at the green i have 0 volt but if i put left t/s on the t/s does not work and if i now push the brakes they work,it has to be something wrong inside the plate,i see there is dirt and grease inside it,all is done with the steering wheel off,has anyone ever opened the plate and got it back together, how is it attached in the center of it,it should be fixable if i get it open,it is much more difficult to find any parts here in Sweden.

I opened mine, they sell a "repair" kit i installed for 19 bucks, it only includes "top" half of switch so you must take it apart. problem was my "bottom" part was the problem. found this out only after installing repair kit of coarse!
