I would want to see a whole lot more documentation.  I know concerning the cars Warner Bros. sold, there were a lot of restrictions placed upon the cars; I believe one being that the cars could not be altered in any way from the condition in which they were sold.  This thing has all kinds of after market additions that weren't available when the series was recorded.

Are there any accurate records on the promotional ones?

I call BS! Wrong graphics! It still has the side markers as well. The wheels do not look right. I know they are vectors, but they are not black in between the spokes. That black interior is a dead give away that it is a fake. I have never in my life seen a real series used general with black interior.

I'm not saying that it didn't do magazine adds, but I don't think that car ever saw camera time on the Dukes.  :Twocents:
1969 Charger 383/auto
1969 Charger R/T 440/auto (waiting to be restored)
1972 Chevelle SS clone 383 sbc
1959 Chevy Apache short bed stepside
1968 Charger (glorified parts car)
Yes, I know I have too many cars. My wife reminds me daily.

If memory serves, there was a "regional" tire company in this area that had several "Gen. Lee's" made up and given away in a contest.  I think it was an outfit called "Wimmer tire."  wonder if this is/ws one of them?

If you read the plaque is says "used in personal appearances/ during filming" .  Doesn't say the car actually saw any screen time. That might explain some of the incorrect features. Also I believe some of the first GL's did have side markers. They started filling them since they had to use 68's as well.
Still not a whole lot of documention.

Having Black Interior, and incorrect graphics... could be a GLE car, but without documentation, to me, it's just another General Lee clone.

I am just chuckling a bit ---to myself---
How can a general lee be real when they were never real?

Of course the show made the car.  The show also made many cars for the show so all of those should be real as well. :shruggy:

I'm a fan of the show and the charger but considering the large number of cars and the variables with the production of the show it just seems odd discussing things like--clone--documentation--correctness---etc. :shruggy:

Is it not true that one can grab a few frames of an episode and claim that car to be a reference?

So I'm from the outside I guess and have a question?-----If one were to need to verify a "real general lee" what is the reference that they are judged by.  My question may seem contentious and is not meant to be.  I see the similar questions about chargers from the production line at dodge and it seems like some questions only get answered from survivor cars.

I have seen this car in person. Im am 99% sure its the car that was at barret jackson in.... arizona i think. Anyway, the show where a storm came in and the tent collapsed on it and did pretty substantial roof damage. It was repaired and sold. Made its way to the east coast only a few miles from me. Was for sale in belair md for a while, then transfered to a guy just outside of town. I beleive that another member on this site has also seen this car in person and even donated some parts for its repairs
If it is the same car, it was advertised wrong. I THINK it was used in the movie, not the series.

Perhaps a general lee expert can chime in. I dont know all the cars and details like some of the other guys do.

I would also like to add that erics muscle cars is a legit company. He would not falsely advertise a product. Any info he is advertising is what was given to him, right or wrong.... just wanted to make that statement before the haters chime in.

Just as a side note... those 70 door panels with the wood grain, compliment the 69 SE Interior nicely.

No its not that GL , that was a movie GL,  MGL21  ,  this GL is a fake  ,  it doesn't even appear to be a GLE car  ,  just someone else trying to make a $$  , I had a local guy telling everyone his replica was real , because John Scheinder signed the dash ,  didn't matter it had a black interior , wrong orange , wrong decals etc etc , i tried to explain to him , that hand John a $20 bill he will sign what ever you like .

Not that i would buy it but if it is from the TV show (screen used or just made as a show car for the public to see) the price of it is asking a little much if indeed it is not what it claims to be ,in fact i believe its still on the high side regardless.Looks like someone is trying to cash in on the name if you ask me.

They made old Mopars with tons of different options & colors.  But they never made a '68 Roadrunner with a 440/6 and Plum Crazy paint.

Generals were used with visible '69 signal lights, and with 3ft-wide pushbars - but not at the same time.  Etc.
