When did the B-bodys get the two piece belt design and when did they go to the one piece shoulder strap? Was the one piece shoulder design new in '75 with the body style change?

74 was the first year for the integrated 3 points seatbelt, using a retractor to each section seam up to the male terminal, instead a common retractor and sliding male terminal

Was it an option in '74? I have a buddy who had a '74 charger and I know it didn't have the retractable shoulder belts!

standard equipment... and federal mandatory

In fact in USA you could not start the engine without fasten them ( interlock system )... Canada is a diff story about this.

74 got in fact diff nut location at roof for the hanging belt, just right at the B pillar post area.

Thanks Natcho. I knew you would have the answer. I wounder what the deal with Jims car was? I'm 100% sure it had lap belts with the shoulder separate just like my car. Early build perhaps? Or I'm just wrong about the year I guess.
