I dont like the 2011 Charger changes but love the previous model. I have a 2010 Challenger RT with the 6 speed and no MDS. I have the race track package with the ability to turn off traction and such. Orginal sticker was 38k, I bought it as a 2010 left over for 28k. I love the car but was considering a Charger since they are AWD.

Whats the 0-60 mph for an 09 charger RT and SRT. Will either beat a Challenger RT?

How much more or less front driver seat leg room does a Charger have than a Challenger?

Is the Charger as solid for a crash from the front, side, and rear or does the Challenger have a safety advantage?

The big big deciding factor is how good is a Charger RT AWD in the snow and off road if needed? I dont plan on taking it off road but am a SHTF kind of guy and would be neat to know it could do it if needed.

Whats your MPG on a Charger? I am averaging 19mpg with 50 percent at 70 mph and 50 percent under 45 urban driving.
Should I keep the Challenger and get an old truck for bad weather or get a Charger?

Sounds to me like you've got money to burn, or you're just fickle.

Nothing wrong with the Challenger.

you might get an answer on here, but this forum is mostly for classic chargers not newer ones. but there are a few owners of new chargers on here too.

I agree.... I would keep the Challenger and buy a cheap 4wd for when you need it.

I also have a 2010 Challenger R/T, though mine is the 5spd Auto, and I would NEVER trade it for a Charger R/T, unless it was a classic Charger, but I already have that too!! :). Unless you were needing a 4dr because of kids or something. AND, .... I'm not sure, but I don't remember ever seeing an R/T or SRT in AWD. For some reason, I'm thinking all the AWD Chargers are SE's with the 3.5 liter V6. I could easily be wrong on that though.

As for performance, the Challenger is only 4 shorter than the Charger, and they have pretty much all the same safety features. Though I do believe the 5.7 Hemi developed for the Challenger is rated for a little more Hp at 376. My guess is you wouldn't notice much performance difference between the two, and if you did, the Challenger would probably feel a little quicker, and maybe a little more nimble.

Mileage..... Can't say what the new Chargers get, but I average about 19 with a mix of hwy and city driving like you described. Straight hwy, I averaged about 24 on the one road trip I cared enough to calculate it. If you're buying an R/T or SRT, you shouldn't be basing the decision on fuel mileage.... just how fun they are compared to other new cars out there. Though granted, it is a nice perk to have retro-muscle that has the same ("Official") Hp ratings as the original 440's, that gets around 25 mpg on the highway.

I know!! The Hp of the old 440's was under-rated and actually higher than that. Don't kill me fellow classic Mopar lovers!!

Charger R/T's are most definitely available in AWD.  But I'm not too sure about the SRT, I don't think so.  You can get an SRT Jeep Grand Cherokee AWD so who knows.

These are all questions for folks who know what they're talking about considering this new stuff.  Unfortunately, you won't find that here but this place will be able to answer your questions'.
