I have Holley carb model 4160 on a 440 motor in my Charger that I am getting read to fire up for the first time. My question is this. can I pour gas down the 2 tubes to fill up the float bowls. I think theses tubes are the vents to the float bowls right? is there any danger of over filling the float bowls?

Yes you can, yes they are, yes there is.

Why not use the fuel pump and tank?

thanks. Well I plan on that but I just want my new engine to fire up ASAP.

yes I have two of them. I also put the air cleaner back on before I try to start it.

if you put the air cleaner on when you start it for the first time how are you suppose to set the carb?  :scratchchin:

only have it on in case it back fires. as soon as I check the timing I will take if off.
