if you have no fender tag OR  build sheet, then the only way to tell is if it is still 100 % original. that's what irritates me most about my general lee when i got it. it was primer, but i could still see remnants of B5 blue, and the interior was blue.. and it was numbers matching 383/2 barrel. back seat was missing. so all i can do is guess what it came with.. i'll never know thanks to some moron who thought he was better off with the fender tag than the car.. basically with no tag and no build sheet, you are screwed

maybe contact galen govier and give him your vin number and see if he can find any info about the car? worth a shot.

Ghoste

Just as a point of information for anyone who might be reading this and in a similar situation with a 1st gen, you can send your vin to Chrysler and they can provide you with the fender tag info.  They only have records from 67 and back though so it isn't an option for most.

No, it is just another reason to build a car the way you want it built.   :icon_smile_big:

Sir Govier won't help you, unless you have an original build sheet and/or fender tag. Try www.trimtags.com

Troy

If you have the build sheet then all of the info from the fender tag is already on it. If you have neither then you'll never really know what was on your car from the factory. The records for 68 were all destroyed.

Unless, of course, he has the build sheet or fender tag in his posession. You can't make a new tag if you don't know what you had to begin with (well, you can but it's a wish list - not reality).

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.
