I am trying to add a second oil pressure gauge but I can not get the block plug seal to budge? Is there any special tool or technique that will help? All the wrenches I can get on it dont leave me with much leverage to turn it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

What kind of plug is it? Mine are 5/16" hex allen but if yours have the square top you can try using a 12-point socket.

Its the square top. I can get the sockets on but it just wont budge? I'm starting to worry if I muscle it it will round the plug then i'm screwed.

Maybe I missed something but why not tee off the other one.  I run 2 gauges off one outlet no problems. This was on my 383 out of the RR.

I cant see why that wouldnt work.

Have you tired going a bit tighter before looser? That tends to help sometimes  :2thumbs:

yep tee adapter better plan i have same set up , one to factory gauge the other a mechanical ,

another option of course but bit tricky with motor in the car is to weld a nut to it & get a six point 1/2" drive socket & breaker bar  :yesnod: if still to tight , heat the surrounding area with a torch  ,  will deffo undo then  :yesnod:

They make sockets for squares.  The pic is a Craftsman brand from a set I have.  If it hasn't been boogered up to bad yet you may be able to take a 3/8" extension and slip the rachet drive end on first and wrench on the square end for a last effort if you don't have a source near by.  Try soak a little wd-40 on first for a while.

I guess I will be going to sears to find one of those sockets and give it a try. If that doesnt work I will go with the T adapter. Thanks for the ideas.
