I see ALOT of these type threads, and it is VERY hard to predict based on the cam what your engine will produce..This is why no one has replied...

VERY little info as far as what is needed in order to even TRY and GUESS what the engine should make...You don't understand predicting power output Is a guesiing game at best..build the enmgine and have it dyno'd in order to be sure...Grab yourself a copy of "Desktop Dyno", as thta should help you out...

Maybe 500.  Need to know more about the build.

But why wouldn't you ask before you bought the cam?

500" NA, Eddy head, pump gas, exhaust manifold with 2 1/2 exhaust with tailpipes
4150 lbs with driver, 3.23 gear, stock converter
11.68 @ 120.2 mph

If you have an honest 10:1 with the Stealth Heads, decent Intake & Carb, the .501/244 will make 500. Try for 10.3:1 even better.

Yes, it will be enough for 500hp, maybe slightly more, with the Victor/850 combo, and Stealth Heads on the 451.
however,
IMO, 550hp requires more VE than the .501 Cam will deliver.

BE HAPPY, it'll work for your original 500hp goal.

I agree...500hp is in the ballpark for that combo. You'll want a 3500 stall and 3.91+ gears as well  :2thumbs:

yea plan was 3.91s and a 3000 stall or 3500 but is there a big difference between the 2

With a quality converter you won't know it's in there until you mash the pedal. I would suggest a Dynamic 10in unit for this combo  :2thumbs:
