I forgot NASCAR still existed. I lost interest as the car bodies became pretty much the same jellybeans with different headlight/taillight decals.

congrats to kurt bush and penski racing. dodge wins the shootout. kurt has been my driver since he was a rookie. great driver with a lot of talent. and hey dale jr. finished his normal dismal 19th. another middle of the pack season full of excuses on why he cant win.   big thumbs up to kurt. :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

I was watching one of the practice sesions yesterday, and they are changing the looks of the cars for 2013 to more a showroom looking car design, even more so then the Nationwide cars. And Ford has already submitted it's design for the Mustang, and they said Chevy will have a new car too, but not the Impala. But they did not say it is the Camaro either. All they said it would be a new name from the '60s we havent seen in a while. And the way I understood it, Dodge still hasn't desided if they wanna use the Charger name or the Challenger in cup, or possably introduce a totally new car.

In fairness to Jr.  - He got taken out by the Edwards and Smith deal.

Happy about Dodge winning!

the front end of those cars is built like a tank the way denny hit the infield on his time trial. jr was fast, but dont worry, come race time he will be jr again. glad kurt is starting on a positive note this year.

Chevelle
Biscayne
Nova?

I vote Chevelle, that'd be a cool retro for them to do.   I'll be the first to say it, that 2 by 2 drafting was a little boring... We'll have to see what 43 cars do on track.

chargermike

by jr doing better. does that mean he might get some top 10 finishes. nice guy great for the sport. but cant drive.if you cant win in a hendricks car. its you not the car. bet rick lets him go when his contract is up. johnson martin and gordon have won. jr just makes excuses why he cant. always the crews fault or because someone wreaked him. well drive up front with the big boys and that wont happen. but when you hang with the has beens and small teams you get wreaked. looking forward to the new season. go 22 team

nvrbdn

you didnt carry it far enough, johnson gordon martin stewart and newman are driving hendrick cars. 2 years ago everyone but jr made the chase. jr was the only guy out of the mix. i dont think he ever mastered that new wing setup either. some got it some didnt. and some could drive an army tank and still win.

Thats what I was thinking. They used to race Chevelles in the '60s for a bit. And they used Nova's in the Nationwide (sportsman back then) too.
