470 stroker - TTI recommendation :)

OK - so when I put the car on the road last year, I settled on the factory manifolds with my stainless 3" X pipe exhaust (yeah I know, but the 2" TTI's didn't fit the low-deck block...)

Now I'm biting the bullet and going for TTI - but what would the best size be for me?  1 3/4" or 1 7/8"

470 - Eddy Victor 383 - SMPFI

Best fit with ground clearance

Paul, with a 470 the 17/8 is the logical choice.....torque is never a problem with a stroker and the larger tubes will help it exhale better on the top end.

A 17/8 primary header is good to 600hp. TTI does now make a lowdeck header in that size, correct ?

Yeah, that's what I figured too Ron   I'm going to double-check with them, but I'm pretty sure that they do make them for the B block.

Paul, i just checked the TTI website and they are showing a lowdeck 383-400 specific header for the 66-74 B-body so it looks like you're in luck.

Hey Doctor,
        Did you get those headers? I just placed my order for the same headers and a 3" x-pipe system.
How is the ground clearance issue? How's it sound? (I opted for the Dynomax ultraflo upgrade.)
Report back as, I'm sure there are others here that need some answers.

Sorry for the late reply....
Yeah, I'm very happy with the fit, finish and sound of those TTI headers!
I even did the whole install in my driveway on jackstands (including the welding ) lol

Outstanding! My order will be delivered to the "Mopars at the Strip" show in April. Can't wait!
It will be nice to have some ground clearance finally.
