Color of valve cover inserts (Orange or Black)..Members Assistance wanted

I want to paint the inset portion (non-polished part of the cover NOT the fin's and wording) of these Mopar Performance valve covers.  Was thinking Black would look good as it would match the pullys and other items attached to the motor.  Going for a non-aftermarket look.  But liked these covers.  I've also been told and agree that Orange to match the motor would look good.  I am leaning toward Black but for fun I thought I'd see what you guys think...Thanks for your help...





Stopped by the restoration shop today and they had a set already painted black, we dropped them on to see what it looks like....Looks good but I might just leave them as they are now

I would do the ribs and lettering black and leave the inset portion as is myself.

They match the top half of your engine as-is. Leave 'em alone.

I think they'd look good orange with the ribs/lettering polished.

Just in case there are a few that don't know what I was thinking, see below (but in Black)

I think they're terrible looking valve covers, you should take them off and send them to me...j/k... just my but I'd leave them the way they are.If you want to paint them black go for it..

Junk those & put the nice factory stamped steel one back on.

Hurry, scrap aluminum is worth about 30-40 cents per pound now.

I agree, if the body was another color I'd say go with orange but black would look better with an orange body.

NICE...believe me, after how much this restoration has cost, I've thought about that a few times.
