Do I use adhesive here?

I have a 68 Charger and there is a foam gasket that goes between the roof rail and roof rail trim. When I removed the old gasket, it looks like it  was glued onto the chrome trim. What type of adhesive do I use to glue in the new gasket? I don't want to use a spray for worry that it would get on the chrome trim. Can I just sandwich it in without any glue?

Spray glue the foam gasket then install it on the roof rail trim. :pity:

or take a little weatherstrip adhesive and spread a thin coat on with your finger and stick the foam on it.

Thats a thin foam strip I believe? I used 3/4"x1/8" double-sided foam tape (to the chrome) for installing direct-set windows. I left the tape on one side so I can take it off easily later on.  :Twocents:
