I saw something like that years ago on a daytona .Not sure but I think the theory was to push air directly at the radiator

I took that picture out at the Mopar Nats at the Chrysler Proving Grounds in 1984 (or '85?).

where's the fender scoops?? 

They were melted down to fill in the nose gap.
