I need some help trying to figure out what my 71 R/T needs to be correct.  The radiator that is in the car is a 22" part # 3443951. The original owner claims its never been replaced.  I can't find that number in any database.  It has no shroud and he claims it never did.  The car tended to overheat on the interstate, but I attributed that to the .40 over and stroked motor. Now I am not so sure.  It is a 440 4bbl no A/C car.  From what I understand 3443938 is the correct part number.  Do I have the right radiator? Was a shroud optional?

I couldn't find the 951 number but 383 non-AC cars used 961 (22") unless it was ordered with Max Cool, which would then have been a 959 but that was 26". All used a fan shroud. It should have come with a 938 and a shroud.

OK, from what I can tell 3443938 IF you are supposed to have a 22 inch radiator is correct.
Let me ask, do you have a build sheet?
It will tell you on the third line what the radiator number is and shroud number as well.  Your fender tag should have the size as the last number of the radiator as well.  Yours should be *22 end.
The build sheet would be a definate though.   :popcrn:

Okay, haven't checked the build sheet yet, but the tag does have say 26 on the third line up from the bottom, just below the screw.  So I guess that settles it.  I need the hemi radiator then?

The it is probably 3443959 or 3443960.  Your build sheet (and I believe it should be similar to 72-3) third line will have a box "RAD" and a 2 digit number in it.  That 2 digit number should be the last 2 numbers of the radiator ... in your case probably "59".
But that will tell you for certain.
Good luck and let us know what you find.

Awesome, glad I was able to help.
I couldn't find 3443951 either.  But the number falls in the "C" body area.  My guess is 318 Fury with out A/C.

I wonder what this mystery radiator goes to? :shruggy:
