Metal dash

Anyone have a good pic of the top of the meatal dash? Is the texture real smooth,that's what I really need to know. Thanks

It is a textured 'suede' finish. PPG calls it number 9324 "Satin Black" in 1968 and 9324 "Jewel Black" in 1969 (same paint code, just different name).

I painted mine SEM Landau Black.

I painted my dash with PPG #9324. The texture is like 400grit sandpaper.

I "gun textured" mine, reduce air pressure and keep fluid the same until atomization starts to get bad. Keep the gun moving and double or triple your spray distance. Makes a smoother texture.

would I be making a mistake if I were to paint it my exterior glossy finish?
Im not concerned about being original, would the gloss be bad with sun/reflecting?

DO NOT paint it a gloss , the glare will be blinding to say the least ( I've been a car that had this done and it sucked )
