Anyone have thoughts on the Cam Newton story?

So whats your thoughts.......this story really intrigues me, especially being a Bama fan. I had to listen to alot of shit during the Albert Means case at Bama a few years back.

My take,
Right now there is no concrete evidence to prove Auburn did anything wrong, but there is enough evidence to point the finger at Cecil Newton for shopping his son around. My question is, if an agreement was made (180k for Cams signature on a LOI, which 3 different people have stated) and a booster had the cash and willing to pay (Bill Bell), then why wouldn't you go through with it? Logic tells me you got offered more somewhere else. And there's alot of rumors going around down here about several Auburn BoT members involvement (won't go into details of that now).

Even as a Tide fan, I can admit Newton IS the best college football player now, and if he indeed had no knowledge of his Dad shopping him around, it sucks his Dad tainted his college career for a few $$$$$.

Speaking as an alumni of USC, with experience dealing with the whole Reggie Bush debacle, I'm of the opinion that if there's that much evidence and that much publicity, he probably did it.

But hey, $180,000 for a commitment is really getting your money's worth when you think of the extra ticket and merchandise sales.  Assuming you don't get caught...

...Oops.

This stuff will not end until the NFL gets involved and starts penalizing players. You can be sure that if the NFL had a policy where a player would be suspended if allegations were proven about what happened in college, things would change.

Without it, Newton or Bush both walk to the NFL and are largely getting away with little to no punishment.
