Ok we all do dumb things sometimes but did I indeed install this backward? I have one side (left) torsion bar all the way pressed into the LCA and I can't for the life of me see the ridge in the frame where the little clip seats. So here's my question. Can I verify this by which side the parking brake notch is for the parking brake strap?? At this point it is on the left side. If I have it in backward it should be on the passenger side. :brickwall:

passenger side.

the groove for the clip is barelly at around 4 or 5 milimeters from the rear edge. Maybe less.

Thanks man. It just wasn't in far enough. All I needed was a few more mili's

Well I got one more question. I did get the diver side in all the way, clip installed. However the passenger side is giving me a pain. Its got like 2mm more to go before I can install the clip. I just can't seem to get it past that point. I've tried over tightening the LCAnut I've tried prying the torsion bar frame back toward the rear. I've tried taking it out and putting it in again to inspect the insert in the LCA and nothing appears to be obstructing. So Hot to I get the extra 2 mm or 1/8 inch of forward push on the torsion bar to get access to the rear clip groove??

I thought about cutting that amount from the LCA bushing :shruggy:

i wouldn't cut anything.  torsion bars are pretty notorious for being a b*tch.  when you took it out did you inspect the ends for wear or shearing marks showing where your problem may be?
Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes.

The average response time of a 357 magnum is 1400 FPS.

The bars look good. They are also brand new. I did inspect inside the LCA fitting also it looks good.

Oky I am stumped. I took of the lower control arm to inspect. The insert looks good the bushing appears to be installed all correct. I measured the distance max it can be inserted and marked that on the torsion bar. It is going in to that point. Still I need 1/8 inch more to get access to to clip groove in the back. So how do I get that? My only option at this point seems to be grinding off that amount from one end of the bar.

Some thoughts

Do you have same gap on both sides between LCA and K member ?

have you measure the K member being centered and not slightly "reared off" on that side ?

I know some what I have told can sound a little bit insane :shruggy:, but... how knows.

No in fact one side t-bar is installed with the clip. I had actually thought of that about the k-member. hmmm...I'm guessing loosen the bolts on it and try to pry it forward?

AmadeusCharger500

Loosened all the bolts on the k-frame plus all the upper control arm bolts....knocked on it with a piece of hardwood. I got that extra 1/8 inch I needed!! Thanks everyone.
