Anyone running a Summit carb?

I guess they're pretty much a Holley-made clone of the old Holley 4010. At $279.95 for a 750 cfm, Summit's price on one of these things is in line with a 5-year-old Street Avenger, but are they any good?

This Ford guy says they're decent:

They seem like a decent carb.
Just take them apart to check for debris etc before installing.

Is that pretty much the typical procedure on all these aftermarket carbs or are the Holleys pretty clean?

I don't know but if there's anything left in there from machining/manufacturing it could cause a lot of grief and time.
So, yes I would strip check any new carburettor, not just the Summit carb because it is cheaper.
