Engine Tilt

I know the engine is "tilted" from front to back, but is it supposed to be tilted from side to side?

My engine has a slight tilt towards the passenger side.  It's actually noticeable when looking at the Oil pan from the front and my steering linkage is about a 1/4 closer to the pan bottom on that side...?

Oddly enough - my air cleaner looks (and measures closer to) level.

Mine had a slight lean to the passenger side but I was always breaking the driver side mount and the passenger side never got replaced. I recently swapped the driver side to a solid and now the lean is much more noticable. I attributed it to the passenger mount being worn out and sagging

I noticed that aswell when I was installing my gear venders unit a few years ago.  When I was talking to the tech dept at GV I mentioned this.

Supposedly, and I can't remember it real clear but I'll try,  the drive shaft has to have so much of an angle in it on its way down to the differential.

Mopars are engines are set low, well whatever way you look at it then drivetrain is pretty straight, so to get the needed angle for the driveshaft they offsetted the engine slightly.

I can't remember why the driveshaft needs to be angled, something to do with a smooth ride I think.

Angled as in not parallel to the 4 corners of the chassis?  :scratchchin: It's offset, shifted over to the passengers side some I think.

my challengers engine is offset to the passenger side i never knew it until i installed my 5 speed and was looking down through the floor and seen the trans was slightly shifted to the passenger side the crossmember didnt line up either because the holes were made to be in the center

Agreed

That I did know..

I mean angled as in "twisted" towards the passenger side.  If I put a level on my air cleaner (left to right) It's slightly tilted....
