Look at the '59 Chevy Bel Air for only $149!!! Now that car is going for $50,000 to $70,000....only $149?? Note to self, get back to working on that time machine...find the space modulator I misplaced last week.

If everybody would have kept these cars in good shape and they were sitting everywhere they wouldn't be worth much at all.

Affordable!!! Are you nuts? That was a lot of money back then. I think minimum wage was around 75 cents an hour or less. Take home pay for 40 hours was around $25 a week or less. Do the math.
My first car was a 69 chevelle SS 396 that I paid $1500 for in 1972.  My friends thought that I was crazy to spend that kind of cash. It took everything that I could make just to make the payment and put gas in it.
Most used cars were going for $500 to $800 then.
Trust me...they weren't exactly the good old days.

Can you confirm the VIN #s on that ad for the Chargers?

I see XP29H9B138421

And

XP29F9B439324

Pretty wide range of VIN #s there......Too bad none in the registry.  It would have been cool to contact the owner with his "original" sale ad!

That would be pretty cool!

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

bull

I'll take a Dart. Those Chargers cost too much money.

MichaelRW

From the inflation calculator: What cost $3399 in 1969 would cost $18048.55 in 2005.

Also, if you were to buy exactly the same products in 2005 and 1969,
they would cost you $3399 and $640.12 respectively.

Goes to show what all those government mandates and gotta have options have done to the price of cars.

Is that supposed to be the VIN in the advertisement? Because I can't make out a VIN in any of the otehr cars being advertised in  the same add. Although it does read like a VIN to a Charger.

I would look closer but have a tiny screen. And its hard to read that print. Now if I would use the other computer to look at the internet I could probably read those. Considering it has a nice big 30" monitor, this one on the other hand has a nice huge 15" monitor.

but I'll take your word for it Chris.

Are there any deals like that in todays car market, I wonder? What will have made that jump 35 years from today.

If you do the math, minimum wage then compared to now, you should be able to buy an '06 dodge charger for $22,759.
Those '69 Chargers were pretty expensive at the time.
