Does anyone have the OE part number for the 68 big block tube? My stick is fine (that's what she said) but the tube has a hole in it, probably from rubbing on the motor mount or something.

Tube - 383, 440 is 2806547.
Then they list something called "tube with clip".  Not sure what that is but the number is 2899231.
They list "clip" seperate on the Hemi.   :shruggy:

On a bb or rb the tube has a small bracket(they are calling it a clip) that is secured to one of the motor mount bolts. It is spot welded to the tube. On a Hemi the have a similar small braket its not welded and just kinda slips onto the tube and is then scuredto a oil pump bolt.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .

I assume the clip is the tab that goes under the motor mount bolt to hold the tube in place.

Thanks, Bob. :2thumbs: I'll see what that turns up. Do you know anything about this other number I found?

Mopar Parts America? That place is in Newberg, Oregon! That's driving distance! :o I've never experienced such a concept before in my life. :faint: :faint: :faint:

Does your part number supercede to this number too? And how do you get this information?

I stumbled on it one day looking for parts catalogs.  They don't have them on line anymore, but the locator stuff is very helpful.

I called these people and the phone rang and rang and then I got put on automated hold for long enough to get a sore neck so I switched it to speaker phone and listened to jazz for 20 minutes. The lights are on but no one's home. :shruggy:

EDIT** I tried calling again on Tuesday and I think that place is done. You get put on auto-hold every time you call and when the phone finally does ring it just rings and rings and then hangs up on you. Figures. :rotz:

Apparently there's still some life out there because they did finally send me an email reply this morning...

I'll try to buy it from them I guess... see how it goes.

Are they going to send a complimentary copy of the "on hold jazz" CD with your purchase?   ;D

Glad you finally got through.
Did you try your Chrysler dealer ... if MPA has it, so does Chrysler.  You may pay a bit more, but you'll save shipping.
That is why I say I only use them as a "locator".  If they have it, Chrysler has it.

Yea, and as you stated above the dealer gets $14 more for the same thing. Is it worth the extra $14 to get the part delivered to my local dealer rather than drive 20 miles ot Newberg. Maybe/probably. Shipping would be zero either way. I have one other option to explore; a coworker that owns a shop and gets discounted prices through dealerships on parts sent to a local warehouse.

I've known a guy at the Chrysler dealership here for 30 plus years. He gives me 10% over cost so most things are the same price or just a bit more.  But as I said, no shipping.
I'd say I'll order it, which I'd be happy to do except there again, there is the shipping to you.
But, either way, that isn't too bad for an original part.
Brads NOS has it ... list price $45 - and Parts Voice shows a bunch of dealers have the part in stock too but again, $45 list, some more even.
