There where more than 109 66 HEMI chargers built. If I recall, there where around 600. I sold mine to a guy in KY in 2000 for $3500.

I saw this 1st Generation Charger at a Mopar show back in July. Didn't pay much attention to it until I looked under the hood. I talked to the owner, he is the original owner and it's a real 426 Hemi car :faint:

That is just another person who's been doubt by the "Galen's Registry" numbers. His registry was formerly known as the "Chrysler Registry" but I think Chrysler put a stop on him using their name probably due to some of the confusion that it caused. A lot of people assumed that if it is a "Chrysler Registry" then they must have all VIN's accounted for.
In this case all that the 97 means is that Galen currently has the VINs of 109 of the 468 Hemi Chargers that were built in 1966. When you put those 109 VINs in sequence order, this car falls out at 97 in order of production, which really means nothing. A lot people make a big deal on what number Galen tells their car is, but it is based on a incomplete list of production. It might mean something if his list was complete for a given model, but in most cases he has way less than 50% of actual production accounted for.
