Does anyone know the correct torque spec for a rocker shaft bolt on a 318?  Mymopar.com says 30 ft lbs and boxwrench.com says 17.  That's a pretty big difference.  They seem to agree on everything else.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You didn't say what year. I assume it's 72, and sorry but I don't have a 72 factory service manual. The 68 FSM says 15 foot pounds. 30 seems too much.

Yes, sorry. It's for a 72. I have them tightened to 17 right now. I agree, 30 does seem like a lot compared to others engine specs.

73 service manual lists 200 inch pounds which is around 16.6 or so ft pounds...17 should do it.
