Ok I odered a Holley Street Dominator from summit  that I recieved yesterday . This is for a 440, that now has the old Torker 440 intake on. I guess I just want to see if I would like this piece. The engine runs great with the current intake, but i've always wanted to try the dominator,  engine is a 30 over 440, comp 274 xe grind. ported 906 heads 3 angle valve job ,speed pro 2295 pistons, mostly street use with 354 gears.Question is will it out perform the torker 440? i'm thinking maybe more down low, ,we'll see.Anyone try the swap? Anyone care to venture a guess? ........Dennis

TH SD is a great all-round single-plane manifold...a search will pop up the article that compares about 8 different RB manifolds...SD performed exceptionally well.  Compare the end of the runners on the SD with your Torker, you'll see the Torker makes a bend just before the head, while the SD had a nice flowing curve all the way from the carb plenum to the head...that equals good flow.  The SD's runners are also no that much bigger in volume than the Torker so the velocity at lower RPM (=torque) is quite good.

SD intake is one of best intakes for mild 440's like yours. Ive got one on mine and it flows much better

It will feel pretty much the same down low. You will notice a difference in the upper midrange and top end power. The old torker falls off ~5500 while the SD keeps on pulling. If your heads are well worked and flow is descent then there'll be a difference. Let us know your impressions when you get it installed.   ;D

I switched to one last winter and I have been more than happy with it.  In fact, I don't know why they don't retool for it on the low decks with the current stroker fad ongoing.
