Niave, too trusting?  Maybe gullible and not aware of my surroundings!

Lets see, I'll try and keep to the facts.  I just recently renewed my interest in my car by dressing it up like the General Lee.

I have a set of western (I think that's what they are) wheels and wanted to get the proper vectors.  So I respond to an add(posted on this very site!!!), ask alot of questions and the guy seams to be annoyed with me and I'm always been told that I am not trusting enough and that I repeat myself too much.  So out of fear of loosing the deal thinking that I may be unreasonable I go for it seeing how I'm all horned up to get going on my long negleted project.

So basically I was blinded by my own excitement, and looking back, I'm sure this guy doesn't know half as much as he claims.  Actually I'm 100% positive.  Nice guy, but not sure of his own shit.  Like a puppy that shits then has to turn around, smell it, maybe even lick it.  Then take a bite.

I kept asking about the backspacing and never got an answer, (he didn't have a fuc$!ng clue what I was talking about, which is fine but wouldn't admit to it).  He said they'll fit my car so it'll fit yours.  In a fairness he was right.  But there is no way he had them on his car, the lug nuts he sent me were the wrong diameter, probably for an old toyota or something.,

At first I was mad, then I calmed down, but he wouldn't take the time to to talk to me, he just wanted to rush another deal thru, meaning he wanted to see me another pair.

I'm going to cut this short because the forum is acting funny as I type,  but should I not be able to ask as many fregging questions as I want without being accused of harrasment?  Or is my wife right in saying thazt the guy feels guilty and is covering for himself.?

If I had of listened to her in the first place this wouldn't have happened!  She things I should try and buy brand new.

One good thing is a I advertised the 15X10 vectors on another site and have had interest in them the next day.

Sounds like he's the tard, at least in respect to backspacing. Backspacing is very important on a 10" wide wheel as you well know.

We have some predators on this site and the sad part is most the time a couple people get burned before they are flushed out and banned. I would let one of the moderators know about what happened and who the individual is.

You are correct ot ask questions when it comes to your money...Yes, it is VERY frustrating to have 50 million questions asked only to have the guy/gal go to another and buy, but that's selling parts....It happens...Expect it. Expect to get the VERY SAME 50 million questions asked as well...

If dude is pushing you to buy, then you should look elswhere. Not that you still won't get burned, it's just safer for you...If you felt uncomfortable, then don't buy...

How about posting who the seller is right here.
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

For me it's like Cooter said; out of the last 50 things I've bought online I'd guess maybe 3 or 4 of the sellers answered all my questions. Typically I'll ask about 5 questions in the initial email and I'll be lucky if I get an answer to 2 of them. And usually one of the "answers" will be so vague it could be interpreted several ways. ::)

I think in today's society it should be SELLER beware...people get shot (literally) for less.
Make it idiot proof, and somebody will make a better idiot!

I can agree with that. We've had a tense situation or two at the yard over the years. Fortunately no gun play tho. dont get me started!

Yeah I'm having more fun now.  Still haven't got the right wheels.  Trying to sell off 2 of the wheels I got.  They are 15X10.  I don't like the way they fit.  I thought I would, but no.

I'll post a pic or two eventually.

And funny thing Mike, I often wondered why people wouldn't post others name's in situations like this and here I am now........ and I'm not sure, just in case I guess.

Anyhow I sent you a PM.  Anyone else want one, let me know.

Well, re-read my original post.  I'm not being sarcastic, I just re-read it!  I never did say I got screwed.  Never came right out and said that anyhow.

Hope it works out for you. Its the same person I had trouble with twice. Once on this forum and on eBay. I will say they did refund my money for my wheel purchase and said the wheels were accidentally sold prior. On eBay they won the bid on wheels I had and refused to pay. Then got really rude and nasty when I was looking for payment. It was obvious it was the same people, shipping address and name were same as where I had sent money earlier to purchase wheels.
I pointed to two old drunks sitting across the bar from us and told my friend
"That's us in 10 years".
He said "That's a mirror, dip-shit!

The good thing is he is easy to spot.  You can tell it's him in emails and if I was in doubt I'd know for sure on the phone.  I could probably tell anyone how to spot him.

I won't say for certain that he tried to screw me.  I just don't think he knows nearly as much as he lets on, and he will not admitt that he doesn't know.  He actually offered to meet me in Niagra Falls, I didn't want to drive that far at the time.  And it was a hike for him too, so I don't understand why he wouldn't rather answer me on email.

But hey, thanks for the PM it's the same address as I delt with, and it's good to know it wasn't just me that found him hard to deal with.

So I guess I'm not a social retard.............unless 68 Coronet is too?????????

Old Moparz

It's a shame people have to screw over others, intentionally or not. Anytime I've ever listed a part for sale I take as many photos as needed, describe any flaws, & list as much info as I can. I also tell the buyer that if the part is not as I described, they can return it for a refund. I just sold a grille & headlight bezel on Moparts for a '70 GTX & the buyer should have it by now. I have yet to hear back anything negative from anyone over the last 10 years I've been selling, so I suppose I am doing things right.

When it comes to buying, I also ask questions. The 3 basic questions are always about actual shipping costs, type of packaging, & getting photos. If they can't answer any of those I refuse to buy their stuff with no exceptions. Vague answers & blurry photos are a red flag & I'll weigh it depending on the type of part & the cost. One person on Moparts never gave a straight answer & I have yet to buy from them. Only once I decided to give them a shot since they are only 30 minutes from me & I can pick up the part.

The part was a fender that was allegedly totally rust free. The word this seller likes to use all the time is "decent" to describe his stuff. What does "decent" mean? It's a vague word that you can safely hide the actual condition behind. The price was a little steep, but I would save enough by picking it up & asked for a photo. I got one taken from 20 feet away, but still saw the bottom area behind the wheel opening all rotted through. I could just imagine if I had sent money & also paid for shipping & got this POS. I'm sure someone did.  ::)
