Dynomax new VT mufflers

My Flowmaster cans are rattling. Time to replace them. I think it's a 2 1/2" system, in and out. I measured 2 1/2" on the outside diameter of the exhaust pipes, is that correct?

Looking on Dynomax website they have a new VT muffler. Supposed to be more quiet at cruise, no drone, yet screams at open throttle. Anyone try these, or have heard them yet?

Did you end up buying these new VT's?  I need new mufflers and i saw these also.  I'm interested in trying them but came here to do a search first.  Seems like these VT's would eliminate the need for the electric cut outs.

No I did not get them. I went with Turbo Flo style mufflers and electric cut outs. I could not really get any more info on them, and availability was a problem. I like the cut outs. Lots of fun in parking lots and stop lights. The down side is how low they hang under the car.

I look at those VTs and I'm a little skeptical of the durability. Having moving parts inside a rust prone muffler seems like the perfect recipe for rattles.

I'll like to hear a set in action.

Ya thats my concern also.  How long is that baffle going to last in that muffler?

Here are some pics of the cut-outs. They are painted flat black to try and hide them a bit. I used Pypes X-pipe with flanges for the cut outs. It all hangs a little low. I see a lot of muscle cars with long tube headers that have the mufflers hanging low though. I guess it is a trade off.
