lets say coronets were easy to come by (68 or 69) then take a 68 or 69 charger grill and 69 tail lights from a charger and put it on the coronet. my friend at work has a 69 coronet that is in bad shape and i have the peices described from my wrecked charger, we thought we might try this and see what it would look like. any thoughts or i know some of you on here are good with the photo shop stuff and desighn programes so maybe some pics or if someone has done this already. we might try it but our skills with metal and welding are not that great so we might end up with a glob of metal and some empty beer cans lol. any way thought i would see what the masses thought.

Well the deck lid will get ya along with the whole rear area. The front is the same way, the bumper sets all the way down where as the charger bumper doesn't at all. Plus I think the top plate area where the grill builts to will also get you on the front end. The rear area of the car is curve where as the charger is straight across, also think about the rear window area of how a charger looks and then look at the coronet one. There is a big difference in the cars.

real quick renders here.  i stopped on the first one because you could see the obvious challenge on the right and left.  i matched the center of the grille up with the width of the center of the coronet grille and there is still a huge void to fill on either side.  That would be your challenge.  I'll never say it can't be done but I didn't manipulate it yet so you could see the big difference in the front(left and right)
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

i think the rear looks easier to do.  i think you would have to weld in everything due to the bumper differences though.

I guess if you have one wreck and one in bad shape and nothing but time then what the hey?

Go to the North American General Lee fan club...there's a 68 Coronet  on there with 69 Charger parts.....It was a valiant effort....but.....just not talking to me....lol

thanks for the rendering of the car. would be fun if it can happen, i think it would look pretty cool, but the fact that neither of us is the kind of body person it would take to do this might lead to some ugly stuff lol. might still try it though. my grill is in no way salvageable and my tail section is really ruff with rust now so messing around with them to see what happens is no lose since he has the tools and time to waste. maybe well get rich from the lotto and pay someone to do this just to see it done. we would need a name for it as well and since we are probly going to melt it down to the ground i think charnet would be a good one lol :smilielol: by the way keep in mind that the coronet is way to gone to fix so we are not destroying a salvageable car. but thanks for all the thoughts and pics

think 68's can hold their own against chargers in the looks dept. especially that cool rear panel  :coolgleamA:

some 69's have the three tail lights and that has always looked shit to these eyes. what were they thinking???? :brickwall:

The three taillight are actually two lights and a reflector but it does look like the other two.  It was part of the 500 trim level so it was found on Coronet 500's and Coronets RT's.

yeah they dropped the ball on that one  :yesnod: give me a base 69 coronet then i guess
