Are you talking about OE-style or what? A 15x8 would work with that size tire.

Specialty Wheel has OE steel reproduction wheels: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,62609.0.html

But if you just want a cool looking black steel rim I'd go with the Bassett D-window wheel: http://www.bassettwheel.com/dot.html

Speaking of black steel rims, does anyone know if Dodge used the standard steelies with no center cap, ONLY the chrome lugnuts on the '69 Coronet R/T's? I know that was the standard wheel for the 69 1/2 Super Bee's & RR with the 440 six packs. a friend of mine is restoring one & really likes the steelie idea, but we're unsure if it would be correct for the R/T model in particular.  :shruggy:

sorry to jack the thread.  :icon_smile_wink:

Sorry, the wheels used on the R/T in 1969, unless it was a HEMI were 14x6 and had a hubcap (full sized) and were black or they were body color and had a small (dogdish-style) hubcap on them and all except HEMI's were 14" wheels. You could order the Magnum wheels but they had gone to a semi-polished wheel with a trim ring by then and they were all 14" wheels.  Only HEMI cars and 440-6 cars had the black 15" wheels.

If you had the build sheet it would specify what type of wheels came on the car and not necessarily the fender tag.

Anyone have pictures of the 1998-2002 Ford Crown Vic Police Interceptor (CVPI) wheels on a 69 charger?  They are 16x7 with 0 backspacing.  I can get a set of the wheels for around $100 and used tires with approx. 50% tread for almost nothing, so i'm thinking about going this route.  also, there are some chrome center caps without Ford logo and trim rings for reasonable prices on Ebay.

The above thread has a URL that shows pictures of various Dodge steel wheels.  This company sells these----they are used.  Note the early and later 15X7 std steel wheel.  I believe the later 15X7 steel wheel shown was somthing like 72 and up.  You can find that type on older Dodge and Plymouth vehicles up to about 1980 year models.  Be careful as lots of them are bent.  I bought 9 and got 4 good ones and two that are useable as spares.  But they only cost $10 each.  Now if you want a 15X8 on the back then you would have to buy that from a reproduction wheel mfg.

I have a set of 4 original steelies and premium hub caps off my 69 available FYI.
