Has anyone ever actually the various disc brake setups?  More specifically, can anyone tell me what the factory 66-69 disc brake setup weighs?  Spindles, calipers, rotors and all.

Really freakin' heavy.

Sorry. Can't offer anything more specific.

Swapping mine out within the next month.  I'll try to remember to put them on a scale.

I dunno but they're not light.  Iron calipers plus 4 pistons equals weight.

The only thing those factory setups really have going for them today (other than originality) is the fact that they clear 14" wheels.  For functional purposes there's no reason to go after them rather than some other newer swap/aftermarket deal.

I'm not going after them, my car already came with them.  They function well, I just wondered how much heavier they were in actual hard numbers.  I already knew they weighed more.

Not sure about the earlier stuff, but it is probably comparable. Here is info I've gathered.

Spindles; drum-6.6#, 74-76 a body-8.4#, FJM spindle-6.2#, Fatman drop-10.0#

Caliper adapters; 11.75 rotor-3.5#

Loaded single pot caliper; 10#

11.75 rotors-25#

Add that all up and your around 45# per side, without control arms.
