I been meaning to ask the question here, is there any Rodney Dangerfield fans on here? if so what was some of your memories of him?

The one quote that comes to my mind real fast is from in CaddyShack when the sea dock flew over him when he was standing on top of the yank and he turn an said "I almost got head by a sea dock!"  :smilielol:

The other was in the Meet Wally Sparks movie at the end when the guy stuck the sourd through the chair (I think) and Rodney said "I see your point!".

I remember when I loose to have a bad day I would pop in one of his films and the next thing I knew I was laughing at to what he was saying.

Best line was from Back to School...asking the English teacher out..."Well, call me when you have no class".

On one of Rodney's albums, he mentions that being a stand up comedian was a part time gig, his real job was singing the National Anthem at cock fights.  So, while performing live, some heckler shouts out, "Hey, Rodney, what do you do for a living?"  Rodney quickly replied, "I get men for your sister."

Been a fan of his since my Dad let me stay up late to see him on The Tonight Show when Johnny Carson did it. My favorite Dangerfield movie was "Easy Money" with Joe Pesci.   :smilielol:

My Father took me to Las Vegas when I turned 21, way back in 1990.  We were walking through the casino at Bally's when we spotted Rodney coming from the pool area wearing a bathrobe and two young ladies, one on each arm.  As we passed I heard one of them said "no, we're not here to be good, we're here to be bad".

I can only guess what kind of afternoon Rappin' Rodney had that day!

From Back to School - "bring us a pitcher of beer every 7 minutes until someone passes out, then bring one every 10 minutes"

BTW - the line from Caddyshack is:

"I almost got head from Amelia Earhart"

A girl phoned me the other day and said... Come on over, there's nobody home. I went over. Nobody was home.
Rodney Dangerfield

I remember the time I was kidnapped and they sent a piece of my finger to my father. He said he wanted more proof.

I told my wife the truth. I told her I was seeing a psychiatrist. Then she told me the truth: that she was seeing a psychiatrist, two plumbers, and a bartender.

My mother had morning sickness after I was born.

My mother never breast fed me, she told me she only liked me as a friend.

My psychiatrist told me I was crazy and I said I want a second opinion. He said okay, you're ugly too.

My wife and I were happy for 20 years. Then we met.

My wife met me at the door the other night in a sexy negligee. Unfortunately, she was just coming home.

This morning when I put on my underwear I could hear the fruit-of-the-loom guys laughing at me.

We sleep in separate rooms, we have dinner apart, we take separate vacations - we're doing everything we can to keep our marriage together.

What a kid I got, I told him about the birds and the bee and he told me about the butcher and my wife.
Rodney Dangerfield

When I played in the sandbox, the cat kept covering me up.

From Back to School (i'm going by memory, so it may or may not be the exact way it went):

Hot Tub Bimbo: "Poetry"

Thornton: "Maybe you can help me straighten my Longfellow"

You know, I think you might be right about that quote, it's been awhile sense I watch the movie. I know something flew over his head and he duck down and he turn and said it so funny.

I went to one of his stand-up shows here in town a number of years back.  One joke I remember vividly was:
"The other night I was walking into the club with my buddy, ya know.
And I saw this dog and he was licking his balls.  So I turned to my friend and said, huh ... wish I could do that.
My buddy said, maybe if ya pet him nice, he'll let cha!"

My wife and I were happy for 20 years. Then we met.

[on 8/24/04, before entering a Los Angeles hospital for heart valve replacement surgery] If things go right, I'll be there about a week, and if things don't go right, I'll be there about an hour and a half.

I recently watched a bio about him. He was a top notch salesman. Use to sell aluminum siding in NY and NJ. Even after he was on TV he continued to sell it.

An electrician friend of mine wired a big addition for Rodney back in the 80's. He said whenever Rodney came thru the jobsite it was just like one of his stand up acts. No one could work cause they were laughing so hard. At the end of the job my friend got paid in full with out any hassle, and Rodney threw a big party for all the contractors. He never forgot his roots.

yeah, people (especially "younger" generation Rodney fans like myself) don't realize that he never really made it 'big' until the late 70's early 80s with Caddyshack and Easy Money, and that's why he always remained a regular guy, at least according to people who met him, like your friend.
