My son has a 99 Mustang ( from his mothers side) with a rag top,the rear window is glass. It has come undone except for the bottom. It appears to have been put on (originally) with some kind of two way tape or some other addhesive. How can we repair this. The couple of shops I called around here want to sell you a new top. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If you catch it as it starts to separate, you can use some adhesive to glue it back down. But after it's completelely separated, it won't fit back on there.

I had an issue with that on my old Sebrings. Clean the glass and use a good expoxy and it should hold. Keep an eye on it. Mine would need to be reglued about once a year.

The glass is vacuum/adhesive sealed to the vinyl....once it separates that's it.  You can try and silicone but it wont hold.

The glass section is available separately though so there is no need for a complete top BUT changing that section is, I believe as much as a PITA as changing the whole top.

Your only hope is Urethane adhesive, very messy and very hard to get the glass in the right place.
The shop that's restoring the interior/top of my Charger says they do a Mustang about every week, now. They're all coming apart an once.
I'd take it to a reputable local top shop and get professional advice.
