5.7 Hemi engine swap can't program shift points!! AARRRGGHHH!!!!

The setup: Did an engine swap... 04 5.7 Hemi & Trans (Dodge Ram 1500) with Hot Wire Auto Custom Harness. In a 69 Charger.

The problem is the car shifts too soon, at like 1800 RPM. I had 3.23's and upgraded to 3.73's and no difference. If fact it seems slower and the rear end howls. I was told it would not, but it does. That was a 1400 .00 pop.

For many months I have been speaking with Superchips & Diablo Sport (Predator) companies. Diablo does not support shift point programming for that year. Superchips is totally stumped because the feature is not accessible with whatever is going on with the configuration. SO after many many and thousands of dollars, plus much blood and sweat, I can't tell you how frustrating this is. Chris at Hot Wire, also will not get into trans programming for liability reasons.

If someone can advise me on how I can re-program the shift points in the stock setup (dodge 545rfe trans) that would simply solve the problem. Went to the Dodge dealer... I might as well stay'd home and let my dog chew my foot to a bloody stump. :RantExplode:

Any help is much appreciated... thanks!

I only drove it a short distance after doing the gears today. I will double check that in the daytime. :coolgleamA:

Hmmm that is odd. I have the exact same setup but I do not have a working tach so I do not know what my shift points are. I can say tho that they do change depending on the throttle. Drive it around for a while and see how it goes. You cannot say there is a problem with shift points after only driving a short amount

Try un hooking the battery for an hour so the ECM resets it's memory if it has one...

Good luck

These dudes maybe able to help http://www.hotrodlane.cc/...they do these swaps for a living and custom flash the pcm's. However, I believe those are learning pcms so maybe driving it will let it "learn" the new setup...the gear change might be freaking out the pcm also...it may still be adjusting for whatever the truck had for gears..which if it's like my 04 Hemi Ram it had 3.92's.

Have you driven the car again? Enough under different situations to know that there is actually a problem?

I am sending the gears back because it howls like crazy. The guy says he will correct that problem. Then I will re-test it.
