Restoring a charger is like a saying I heard along time ago "I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it".... Jesus I wish I could remember who said that...

i looked at one of those kits for the older muscle cars and it says that it might require some welding which really turns me off. MY door are already shaved along with the door jams and the last thing i wanna do it start drilling holes and welding on my already painted car.  what to do?

what are you using now to open your doors since you already have shaved handles? i would love to see some pics if you have any i'm considering shaving mine to and looking for as many pics of them shaved to help me make my mind up. if you have any fabrication skills i'm sure you can come up  with a way to mount some of those door poppers that may require welding on without. maybe drill some holes and have some screws attaching things and brackets. i could be wrong havent tried to install them myself yet.

Ive been able to opent he doors through the quarter glass by leaving it unlocked on both doors, incase one falls down and locks inself.  i got lucky and had a factory trunk popper for when i shaved the trunk lid. If the battery ever dies i have to terminals hidden in the that i have easy acces to.  i talked to a friend the other day and he said that the poppers can go on the door close to the fender where no one can see it.  i'll try to find some pics.

I shaved my door handles and trunk lock about 15 years ago. Getting ready to convert my 69 charger into a daytona and will redo it all over again. I had remote poppers on it all back then but found an original electric trunk release that will be going in and will get rid of the remote popers they seem to go bad when you least expect it.
I will be adding hidden buttons to pop the doors.
If you look on summit they have flat metal springs to push the doors open once you hit the popper. no drilling for the large pusher style opener. My old computer crashed or I would send you some pics.  My car is at a friends getting the window plug installed. will post some if I can find them.
