Sealing Gas Tanks

I recently bought a new gas tank for my 70 Charger and a buddy of mine suggested it should be sealed before install to protect it from ethanol fuel corrosion.  POR-15 has a kit for $50 that appears to be intended for use on old tanks with rust, pinholes and seam sealing that looks like it would work as a general protectant.  What do you think about sealing a brand new tank?  Thanks.
