rear defrost intake

Hey, I'm working on a 72 with factory rear defrost. I'd like to install two speakers under the package tray, problem is that the rear defrost uses one speaker mount as an intake. Has anyone come up with a clever solution to this problem? I don't want to leave the air intake hanging from the flexible duct... maybe mount it to the seatback?
