It's been a while but I am getting close to installing this thing.  She Dyno'd at 577hp and 611fbs.  Anyway Ron and others I am sure you have done this before so maybe you can provide some tips.  My questions are:

1.  Edelbrock CNC Aluminum Heads........Where do I connect to lift Engine and trans into the car?  Every engine I have done has had Iron heads and I have used the grounding bolt holes in the heads.

2.  If I remember correctly I need to fill Torque Converter (PTC) with fluid, start the car in neutral, build line pressure and then run through the gears.

3.  Is it possible to install with headers on the engine?  I am thinking it will not be worth the effort and chance of damaging them (TTi 1 7/8 Ceramic Coated).

4.  I have though about installing from bottom but I'm not sure I can get the front of the car lifted high enough.

Thanks for the help, I will check back later today I will be over in the shop working.  Dave

(1) I use a plate attached to the intake manifold carb mounting pad....works like a charm  :2thumbs:

(2) add one quart to the converter before installing and top up the trans (cold)....run it in neutral to allow the converter to fill and add as necessary. Wait until the trans fluid has warmed up because it expands with heat. It's easy to overfill and then you'll have leaking fluid out of the vent. Been there, done that !  :icon_smile_blackeye:

(3) I would install the headers seperately. As you're lowering the engine in slide the headers in place and bolt them up after the engine is resting on the k-frame. You can use a few old blankets to protect from damage.

Should be an easy job Dave....have fun !  :icon_smile_big:

I would consider getting this book,,,great resource,,,,and walks you thru step by step on pulling and installing motor/trans,,,etc,,,VERY handy,,,,

The engine plate is the way to go as Ron says,,,,very easy to use,,,and you dont have to mess with running bolts into the heads,,etc

Make SURE you seat the convertor all the way on the trans,,,should have THREE distinct positions as you put it on,,,,,I usually mark the flex plate and the convertor,,,so i can line things up easily,,,,,and use NEW convertor bolts with loctite

Thanks again guys.  Didn't get the motor in before I had to depart for the sandbox.  Will get me a motorplate and use it when I get back in October.
