First some details I recently installed my spare fresh rebuilt 440, only .040 over, with moderate street perf cam, new everything, all msd, ignit, coil, controller, rad the works. I have had a local shop finally help get the timing right and it running decent. The break in has been going fairly well, although I found out im running 2.76 gears which kinda sucks but dont mind on highway. I have been paranoid as hell because the temp sensor is miss reading in dash, 180-185 is reading as 240 so it appears always red lined even though its not. And I have had shop confirm this as well. I am going to install aftermarket dig temp gauge and probe soon because this is abviously a week spot if I run into trouble. ANyways onto my problem... I just stuck on twin magnaflow 40's and the sound of course is unmatched love it, but it seems since then Ive been having warm start issues as well as stalling, Also heat spikes that im guessing are around 190up. Can someone help me with this issue? Advise? I have read on hear many guys have had warm start issues with fuel heating, not sure if its related or not, or exhaust has caused to run hotter? thanks for any advise.

what kind of radiator are you running? are you using the stock clutch type fan or a electric fan? also do you have a fan shroud on? if not i would get one they make ahell of a difference in cooling. what degree thermostat is in it? you could just be running really hot and boiling the fuel out of the carb. that could be the reason your having hot start issues. not sure if this explains the shutting off problem. are you driving as it shuts off idling or braking coming to a stop?

Is your carburetor mounted directly to the manifold? If so, get an insulating spacer to start with. Fuel line routing is important too, especially during break-in the motor can run significantly hotter than after it loosens up a little.

Blocking off the heat passages on the intake manifold will help with the fuel heating issue......also  check that your gauge is working properly....Does all your gauges function properly?....Fuel, Oil, and Temp?....If not....that lil regulator on the back of the dash cluster can be bad

Since you said it started when the Magnaflows were installed did you check for any clearance issues between them and the fuel lines.  If they are too close, the fuel may be vaporizing in the line near the mufflers. :scratchchin:
