Having a little trouble with brakes.  Installed new brake booster and master and brake lines.  Getting fluid to all wheels.  Bleed brakes but still pedal goes to floor and comes back up slow.  Guessing still air in lines.   :brickwall:

did you bench bleed the master cylinder?
just for reference so you don't think i'm making it up. here's a link.

Do you have power brakes?
Could be your not pulling enough vac to operate the brake booster properly.
Maybe you could give some specs on your motor, cam, etc...

Welcome aboard by the way.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Welcome! Are the brakes adjusted snug to the drums/rotors? Did you adjust the rod between the booster and the master so it just barely touches?

.......oh boy, am I ever gonna borrow your brains.

I've got the same problem with mine and it's driving a buddy and I bonkers!

It was originally drum, switched over to disc, non power to power, etc......

We replaced just about everything brake related and tho' it got better, wasn't the way we wanted it.

Just finished it last Fall (and parked it 1/2 working) and haven't done anything yet this Spring.

I'll get more of the details and post the particulars, in hope someone can provide some ideas.

Good to know you are here!   (....kinda giving me a bit of ambition/motivation!)

Well, he did say he can't stop. I guess he's out there somewhere rolling around and is therefore unable to post a second time. :shruggy:

Thanks for the Tips.  I'm waiting for the weekend to tackle this thing again.  Hopefully.  I bought the master cylinder and the brake booster and it came already together.  Since it was already attached should it have already been bench bleed.  Anyways, I hope to get to work on it this weekend and post an update later.  Thanks

I would assume it's not bled myself, I think they are shipped dry.

:yesnod: That's correct. You need to bench bleed it.

I Got Brakes.  I did what yall said I had to do.  I had to bleed the master cylinder.  Took forever but at least I can stop now.  Thanks everyone for the info.

Thats what the two little hoses are for...that come with the master cylinder....screw them in where the lines go,  and divert the hoses back into the master cylinder itself....and pump the brakes to get all the air out of the master cylinder...Even Booster/cylinder comes assembled....they still need bench bleeding.    EPA doesnt allow components to be shipped full of brake fluid
