Here are some of Steves (ChgrSteve67) pics from the show http://s416.photobucket.com/albums/pp248/MPR67/MoparAlley2010/?albumview=slideshow. I'll get mine up soon, along with commentary.  :popcrn:  ;)  But I'll attach one photo as it is special (but expected  :smilielol:).

Its always nice when your peers like your car and think enough of it to write you number down on the voting ballot.
This was a participant judged event. Thanks to everyone who voted for me.

I was glad I did not win 1st place (I didn't think I would, I was surprised to get second). I would feel obligated to return next year to represent the B-Body's in the Top Gun category. Since I will be starting my trip to the CEMA show in MI this time next year I will not be able to make it and the category would be without representation. Dan will have to take the trophy home next year.

I can't wait to see Dans pictures. In fact I know I already want a copy of the high res version (hook me up Dan). I hate my camera and my battery died around 1PM. It also did not do well under the tent taking pics of the private collection.

Well, I'll just burn a DVD for ya then.  :icon_smile_wink:

My photo editor took a ("reply deleted by Moparts - keep it clean, fellas") so I'm winging it.  :D   They should be up tonight.

Here is my contribution http://s778.photobucket.com/albums/yy61/73SEDan400/Ohlone%20Mopar%20Alley%20Ralley%20June%206%202010/?albumview=slideshow.

I had a lot of fun seeing old friends and new. Steve and Marie Shirley allowed me to spend the day with them. Very gracious people (o.k., Marie was.  :icon_smile_wink:) The Hemi 'Cuda's (and Panther Pink '70 Charger) from the Wade & Aster Ogle Car Collection were fantastic. I could have spent the entire day just under their tent. All but one of the cars (that car was delivered on the day of the show having just undergone a complete restoration) were driven to the show from his Bay Area showroom.  Wow.  :o  That would have been quite a site to see on the freeway.  :yesnod:  :drool5:

First off as president and show director of Mopar Alley, I would like to thank all of you who attended our show this year. We had a record number of cars at 343 which did not include the display cars!

Actually 3 weren't driven; the pink cuda wasn't driven because it only has 47,000 original miles, the purple convertible because it was delivered on Sunday (as you pointed out) and the Sassy Grass cuda wasn't driven although it was suppose to be, but there was some shifter difficulties that stopped it from being driven to the show. As for it being a site to see, yes it was awesome. I was privileged enough to get to drive the pink charger to the show and help move the collection in under the tent. I posted started the thread below on www.cuda-challenger.com in regards to the display cars. If for some reason the pictures don't show up in the thread the first link I have below is to the photobucket folder where I uploaded them to. Thanks for everyone that attended the show. Without the participants we wouldn't have a show.  :2thumbs:

Thanks for all the hard work, John. It was a great show! I'll probably have to join Mopar Alley now as you are a neighbor.... :icon_smile_wink:

You, Sir, for driving a pink Charger are made an honorary full member of this site.    That car was fantastic. I'll see you around the neighborhood!

Edit - I added a pic of Chgr67Steve (Steve Shirley) accepting his 2nd place trophy with Mopar Alley President John McDonald, as well as a few of the "Panther Pink" '70 Charger.

There is an interesting story behind the build of that Charger. The original owner went down and ordered it with every option in the book, including AC and a sunroof, and thought he ordered a red car seeing the name of the color was moulin rouge (being Canadian and rouge being French for red). AC of course was kicked out because you could not from the factory get AC on a multi carb car, although a friend of mine has a 440 6 pack superbird (which was in the project class at the show) that had AC installed at the dealer. As for the sunroof, the car was taking a long to get build and it was determined that there was a problem at the factory getting sunroofs, so the owner decided to cancel the sunroof. The car showed up at the dealer and to everyone's surprise Moulin Rouge was pink and not red. So this extremely rare car (1 of 2 I believe) was built completely by accident.

Thanks for the story, John.    As this is a Charger site I'll post a few more photos of the '70 Charger for posterity.  :D  So, how did this car run, John?  :scratchchin:   :popcrn:

It ran really good, of course having a 4.10 rear made for some high rpm's on the freeways. The ride quality was really good, the car is equipped with a 6 way seat, and was comfortable. It took some getting used to the long throw of the B-body pistol grip as I am used to the short throws of the e-body pistol grips. I really like the tic toc tach, it was fun watching its operation. I got a lot of thumbs up from people as we were making the trip and one guy told me it was the most awesome car he had ever seen!
