A 1969 SE I used to own

Here are some pictures of a 69 SE I used to own that I just stumbled on. It was a 383 4V, A/C, PS, PDB car. It was really rusted. I bought the car with the intention of restoring it. I decided it was way too much work for me. At the time, AMD panels were not available yet.
The roof is this way, because at some time in it's life, some previous owner installed a cheapy sunroof. The water must have gotten under the vinyl top and rotted the roof out. When the car was delivered, the sunroof had fallen into the front seat.
The car was rotted bad, but was complete with no missing chrome.
I sold the car to a really nice guy in Kentucky. He was into Chargers so I don't know if he is a member here. I think I sold it around 3 or 4 years ago.
Does anyone know what happened to this car?

There was no piece of sheetmetal on the car that wasn't rotted. The gas tank fell out of the car on the flatbed on it's trip to my house. There was little left of the rear frame rails.
For me, I couldn't justify buying every piece of sheetmetal, floors and frame rails to save this car. I hope the new owner is saving the car. It was probably a beautful car in its day.

Not only was it a sunroof car, it was a swiss cheese car also. Very rare on anything other than a Pontiac!  :smilielol:

It gets to a point of assembling  new and some used parts to "restore" THE car instead you are building a new one.

Rallyecharger

Sometimes we just cannot save them all.............we need to seperate between dreaming and being realistic.

i think that is the first charger I've ever seen with that style of pinstripe...  :shruggy: looks like it was a nice charger at some time.. a good example of why we need to take care of our chargers...  :-\

I remember seeing that car on ebay some time ago, not sure if its when you sold it or? It doesnt seem like it was three years ago though that I saw it on there..

It was on ebay when I sold it. It might not have been 3 years ago. I am not sure.
